Happy Tuesday, friends!
Ok, I was NOT expecting such an overwhelming response to my last newsletter, in which I debuted my new service: Pitch Perfecting Party strategy sessions. This is an ongoing offering, so feel free to email me whenever you’d like to schedule yours (just know that I’m currently booking about 3 weeks out, and am of course following a first-come, first-served model). I’m so glad you’re finding this service valuable … I had a hunch I was onto something, but wow!
In a few recent paid versions of my newsletter, I talked about Press Trip Invite Etiquette and How to Host the Perfect Press Trip. Along those lines, I wanted to share some recent headlines related to working with travel influencers:
https://www.washingtonpost.com/technology/2022/04/13/travel-influencer-lawsuit-cassie-de-pocol/
And here’s another article, with more coverage of her lawsuit: https://www.frommers.com/blogs/arthur-frommer-online/blog_posts/travel-influencer-sued-for-telling-increasingly-bold-lies-to-build-her-brand?fbclid=IwAR21j3yHesfPJykd3os_tpG2A-ce5kzeGR1yGzg5KGQ1o7OkZ-9JK-1h9L8
Bottom line? Don’t fall prey to this situation! Make sure you thoroughly vet influencers (in any industry), so you know exactly what you’re getting before you begin a collaboration. Anybody can claim something … but is there proof? Do your due diligence … it’s the only way to protect the reputations of your brand and your clients’ brands.
And finally, I know I promised an April Ask Me Anything session, but I’ve somehow run out of April! So, I’m scheduling it for Monday, May 2 (close enough, right?!).
Paid subscribers: Look for your AMA invitation in a separate email, tomorrow. And if you haven’t yet switched to a paid subscription, there’s still time to do so TODAY so you can get in on that session next week.
Scroll on down to see my latest assignments (just a couple right now … awaiting more May assignments) and published articles (again, waiting for a TON of pieces to publish).
Have a wonderful week,
Jill
