You're so right - it's brutal out there, getting worse every week. As usual, Jill, your is a very context-savvy and timely message. In addition to fewer publishing opportunities, it's getting harder and harder for freelancers to market their work to the ones still hanging on. I have a podcast coming out on Jan 31st about building new boats to get our words out. I think we're going to see lots of new ideas and I hope PR folks will consider some of the better ones. Thanks for your compassion, folks.
THANK YOU for such a thoughtful piece Jill. I'm going to share this with all the Jr/interns comms students I know. I think we're in such a crazy time that reminding ourselves "what comes from the heart goes to the heart" is so important. People want honesty, authenticity and compassion. NO ONE wants to be 'cold-sold' and don't make me feel like an email-blast-template (insert eye roll)
Totally on point Jill. Thank you
Great advice, Jill. As a PR professional, I appreciate your candidness. ❤
ugh! It's been a week - I hope we can put these layoffs behind us soon. It's so devastating!

Thank you for these reminders, Jill! It's so sad to keep reading this type of news & praying it ends soon!
