Armpits & Acne: The Glamorous Life of a Health Writer
Plus: Links to 3 recently published travel articles
Happy Tuesday, everyone!
I had a lovely birthday weekend up north in the White Mountains with my parents and fiancé. Lots of good food (minus the beautifully decorated, but unfortunately disgusting gluten-free birthday cake my parents paid way too much money for in an effort to support my new gf lifestyle), relaxation, walks in the woods and fun board games!
And now I have another short week, because I’m heading up to Williams, AZ on Friday to take the Grand Canyon Railway on Saturday. Then we’ll visit Bearizona Wildlife Park on Sunday before heading back to the Valley. My Insta stories should be pretty epic this coming weekend, so make sure you’re following a long!
A few housekeeping items:
When my subject line instructions say something like “Face Serums + Product Name” that means you should replace “Product Name” with the actual name of the product you’re pitching :) That helps me easily find things in my insane inbox and the only way I can stay semi-organized.
When I ask for a LINK to images, please don’t send attachments. Nobody wants photo attachments. Ever. I promise.
Please don’t pitch products that have only 3 Amazon reviews when they’re all 1-2 stars. I understand that Amazon reviews aren’t always fair, but I cannot recommend a product to thousands of readers that 3 out of 3 verified buyers disliked. For my TMB articles (Reader’s Digest, The Healthy, Taste of Home), Amazon reviews should be 500+ strong (unless it’s a brand new product, so please tell me in the pitch if that’s the case) and have a 4-star average.
Enjoy your week … as always, you’ll find my editorial needs and recently published links below! And if you’re keeping track from week to week, you’ll have noticed that I have FIVE armpit-related assignments on my plate currently … sometimes, this job is really the pits ;)
Jill
PS: I’m (finally) going to be hosting my first quarterly Ask Me Anything Zoom session in April, and it’s an exclusive perk for paid subscribers. So if you’re interesting in picking my brain (be careful, it’s a little scary in there!), then now’s a great time to upgrade your subscription so you don’t miss out on all the fun! Plus, you’ll gain access to my archive of paid content that you’ve missed, too.
