9 Steps for Handling Media Outreach During a Tragedy (and How to Educate Clients)
This includes pitching, follow ups, current campaigns and more
Good morning, all.
On Monday, I published an important Substack for Top Tier Consulting (the PR consulting agency I co-founded with Nicole Pajer last year) … and it’s been making the rounds all over LinkedIn, Instagram, and in various other newsletters. It’s been viewed more than 5,000 times, and we only have 1,700 subscribers!
Because I believe the message deserves an even wider audience, I wanted to share it here, with all 5,400 of you, too. And that’s why we made it a FREE post, so that it could be shared far and wide.
Here are just a couple examples of the amazing emails received so far:
"Jill, I just wanted to say thank you for your recent newsletter. A colleague passed it along and I read through it twice and saved it and shared it as well. It was so thorough, thoughtful, and helpful.”
“I wanted to thank you for sharing today's newsletter... As not only a Jewish woman, but a new business owner... figuring out how to navigate these unthinkable circumstances is scary and confusing. I am so appreciative of the insight and incredible example of how to properly handle what's going on. I've shared your newsletter with other publicists and freelancers, and hope this helps others as much as it helped me.”
I pray that this guide isn’t something you have to refer to often (or hopefully ever again). But it’s here if you need help navigating the unthinkable.
And I continue to pray for peace to all who are suffering right now.
Jill

Thank you Jill. You spoke about everything I have been feeling. I'm so glad it reached a larger audience, and is having an impact. Sending much love to you, and to everyone who seeks peace in the world.
